WINTER UNIFORM DONATION FOR LEARNERS IN CERES |
September 2025.
This winter, hundreds of local learners received brand-new winter school uniforms through a community initiative, helping them stay warm and comfortable during the colder months. Beyond keeping children warm, the uniforms help foster a sense of pride and belonging across 17 schools in the Witzenberg community area.
“This contribution ensures that no learner is excluded due to financial challenges and helps to instil values of gratitude, loyalty, and respect. In addition to meeting a practical need, the donation strengthens discipline, unity, and school pride, while also enhancing our school’s image. By providing our learners with the same attire, a stronger sense of togetherness and teamwork is fostered. We are truly thankful for this meaningful investment in our learners and our school,” said Welgemoed NGK Primêr Principal, Morné Syster.
This initiative, which benefitted 380 school learners, was made possible through the support of Perdekraal East Wind Farm in partnership with local small businesses to produce and supply the uniforms, ensuring the investment benefited the broader community.
“Providing warm uniforms improves attendance, supports academic performance, and motivates our learners to succeed. It’s about giving them the dignity and comfort they deserve so they can focus on learning,” said Gwynne-Lee Borcherds, Economic Development Manager for Perdekraal East Wind Farm.
Schools benefiting from this initiative included Bella Vista High, Iingcinga Zethu Secondary, Achtertuin Primary, Bella Vista Primary, Britsum Primary, Ceres Primary, Ezelfontein NGK Primary, Fairfield Primary, Laastedrif NGK Primary, Matjiesrivier Primary, Mooi Uitsig Primary, Morrisdale Primary, Nduli Primary, Northridge Primary, St Marks Primary, Wanganella Primary and Welgemoed Primary.
